Tibetan Singing Bowls For Meditation And Healing
Tibetan Singing Bowls For Meditation And Healing
Finding a little peace and calm in life can be a struggle for so many people. Tibetan Singing Bowls, for meditation and healing, might be something to consider if this describes you too. While this article is directed at unpaid Carers and their dependents in the midst of the chaos of disability, or single mothers whose child has been diagnosed with Leukemia, non-Carers and parents of children with Leukemia, the every day person can also benefit from learning about them. I am always looking for ways to reduce stress in our home and to improve the lives of all the people who live within these walls. Sometimes that means finding a way to soothe our person with the disability so we can return to a somewhat harmonious state. When I find something helpful, I will always share this with you in the hopes that it may be of help to others too. It may or may not be for you, but hear me out before you make any decisions.
Why Would We Try Tibetan Singing Bowls For Meditation And Healing Purposes In Our Home?
The entire family can be affected by disability, especially when it involves overwhelming anxiety from a person with developmental PTSD and the disorganisation of the associated ADD it brings with it. There are always repercussions on the rest of the family. Emotions can get out of control very quickly when triggered or simply upset by their own frustration with functional lack.
Emotions can range from extreme anger, irritability and volatile outbursts to uncontrollable shaking and even tears. Which in turn effects everyone around them, whether it be through being in the line of fire, being the brunt of the person’s emotional release, or being unable to bring peace to the person and feeling upset and distressed for them. Anything that can help calm down the emotions is looked upon with gratitude for us. We are always adding things to our toolbox to see how they work and will always pass on the information to others. Thus it was with the idea of Tibetan singing bowls.
I was already interested in various methods of sound healing, as you may be aware if you have read any of my other articles on this. I had heard about singing bowls as a means to use such sound healing to bring balance back to a person. I wanted to give it a try and see if it might be useful to our situation, so about two years ago, I bought one for my daughter for Christmas.
I have been waiting to write an article about it since then, but because it sat gathering dust for two and a half years and she didn’t even pick it up to try it, I had to put my curiosity about it’s effects on the back burner. I gave her the information it came with, and a link to a video to learn how to strike it to develop the sound, and nutta, nothing, not even once did she look at the information. She kept telling me she would, but it just didn’t happen.
IT WAS BECAUSE I DID A SILLY THING!
If you are wondering why she didn’t try to use it, that was my fault. Yes, I did a silly thing. When I was trying to explain it’s purpose, I struck the bowl with the stick to show her what it was and that was the end of it. People can be a bit finicky, and my daughter has a major case of the finickys (I know that’s not a word, I just made it up, I’m trying to make the article a bit lighthearted). She hates spoilers, and although I did not even think about it at the time, that constituted a spoiler, big time, I failed to see that by me striking the bowl, I didn’t give her a chance to do it first. Looking back I probably would have been slightly upset by that myself, but my failure was that I just didn’t think before I acted. I thought it might spark an interest, but it only made her refuse to do anything with it. (Yes, that’s how stubborn and hard-headed she was back then and it was a guessing game as to what she might get upset about, and often this came completely from the left field too). The results of which, meant that the singing bowl that I was so excited about buying for her, was cast aside.
THINGS HAVE CHANGED SINCE THEN
Thankfully things did not stay stuck forever. I am so proud of my daughter. She has been working so hard on trying to heal. It has been a very long and arduous process but she has always been a fighter. She has been looking into many things for emotional, spiritual and health support and one day, out of the blue, she picked up the singing bowl and started trying to strike it. My daughter likes to research, so she instantly went online to try to find something that would teach her how to use it. To learn what to do you can do a simple Google search and find the information you need or read my article I wrote on my other website that gives the instructions. As a Chakra Balancing Practitioner and Energy Healer, Singing Bowls are just one of the healing methods I use in my practice. I hope you give it a try and would love to hear how you find them. As always, I will share anything I learn about or try that I feel might be helpful for you. Similarly, don’t ever feel obligated to buy everything I recommend or suggest, only things that resonate with you.
Thank you for reading my article and I hope your healing journey finds a use for this information.
Warm Wishes
